Patient Advocacy Consulting

Our health care system is complex and can be overwhelming to patients and their families. If you aren’t feeling well, are facing a life-compromising illness/condition or are on the “diagnosis journey,” navigating your medical care can be challenging. Health insurance is complicated and medical information can be confusing. I am a patient advocate, navigator, healthcare coach, and patient educator. My goal is to empower you and your family so you become active participants in care and receive the kind of quality medical care you deserve.

As your patient advocate, my allegiance is to you. I have no affiliation with hospitals, physicians, other healthcare providers or medical facilities. My goal is to support and advocate for you with no conflcit of interest. No one cares as much about your health as you do, except your loved ones—and your private patient advocate.

I wrote two award-winning books on patient advocacy. I give lectures to patients, families and health care professionals on patient empowerment, patient engagement, patient-centered care, health literacy, patient safety, and more.

With a master’s degree in psychology and a certificate in patient advocacy from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA,) I am able to communicate and support you, making the time you need to feel more comfortable and to understand your health care experience. I’ve experienced health care from a variety of angles as I’m an advocate for others but also for myself. I was a chronic pain patient for 16 months. My research led me to my own diagnosis after 12 physicians misdiagnosed me. I found the appropriate specialist to cure me and I’ve been pain free for three years.

I’m a patient advocate but I’m also a patient.
